At the studio I’ve been busy with a new project revolving around Philadelphia women’s empowerment photography. The Everybody Beach Body Project is about celebrating body & soul diversity.
“Year round we can let go of notions of our enoughness having any basis in how we look and simply lean into living our best day, everyday.”
We still live in a world that pushes the ridiculous idea of the “perfect beach body” or a body that’s “beach ready”. This is a bill of goods that’s sold year round. I wanted a way to affirm directly that we all have the perfect body as we are. Year round we can let go of notions of our enoughness having any basis in how we look and simply lean into living our best day, everyday. We can day by day build our best lives.
I asked women to share the story of their journeys towards self love and self compassion.
I asked when they felt like their truest selves. These women’s photo reflect their own personal journeys toward claiming the truths of their intrinsic self worth. Over the coming weeks, you’ll see each of their stories featured here.
We’re compiling these stories and photos into a wall calendar and selling that calendar to benefit ANAD, the National Organization of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders. A calendar because what better way to collectively roll our eyes at that bastion of mythical beauty; the traditional swimsuit calendar? Instead, these women remind us every day of the year to live our truth, boldly.
We’re redefining beauty, inside and out, one story at a time.
The Everybody Beach Body Project is still accepting submissions. If you’d like to help change the conversation about beauty then submit here. Receive your own unique photo experience and design your own personalized wall art to always connect you to your deepest inner strength. Share this project with other women and help spread the word. We’re redefining beauty, inside and out, one story at a time.
