This Bucks County Couples Photo Session at AARK Wildlife Rehabilitation Center was breathtaking at every turn. Zach and Kim met here and were married here, in Chalfont, several years ago. So when they reached out for a couples photo session that would capture their deep love for each other and the love they share for every living creature, AARK was the clear choice for a place to reclaim time for one another.

AARK was the perfect place for them take time to reconnect, especially as they balance work and life with a growing baby. In these times it’s all the more important to carve out a space for one another and remember what it is that we first loved in each other and look with intense focus on what love has grown over time. In this space is gratitude, peace and joy that is so easy to overlook and bypass with the business of life.

When I asked Zach what he loved most about being with Kim at AARK, he shared that it is her absolute giddiness and elation when she is close to all of the animals. He went on to liken her to a Disney princess. The birds land on her. The fawns follow her. All is magic and light when she is there. All magic and light is in her eyes.

Zach has been volunteering at AARK in Bucks County for over a decade and Kim was taken by his presence there and his devotion to the animals. What became clear to me as I captured them together was the magic that they created for each other. Kim clearly adored Zach’s easy command of the wild life around him. Zach obviously loved taking her to each animal; almost as an offering in which he could revel in her awe and wonder.

It is when we take time to rest in the space of our love that we see details we never saw before and open the eyes of hearts to what has been there all along as well as all that is new and possible.
